“And above all,
watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you,
because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places.
Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.”

Krampus

I remember when I was a child,I used to get so scared the night before Christmas,i'd get ready for bed, set out a plate of cookies, cover my head with the blanket, all the while trying to fight this feeling of foreboding....I didnt know what it was that spooked me so much, maybe because there was large red suited stranger due to arrive...maybe I was afraid I'd been bad and I wasnt going to get gifts....I couldnt explain why I was so frightened and had been increasingly so all that month.
Well a couple of days ago I read about this horrible creature called Krampus,he is the "counterpart" of St. Nicholas, while St.Nick gives out goodies to the good boys and girls, Krampas on the other hand, deals with the bad ones.He carries a switch to whip them with, and a basket on his back to carry them off to Hell. He also has coal to put in the stockings of children that didnt commit too terrible a misdeed.
It all makse sense now!I guess there's still time to rectify our behavior so we wont get a visit from Krampus...less than six months till Christmas....shudder!

(Im)possible Things

I bought this glass jar at a dollar store, originally it was purchased to put roses from the garden in it but.....it evolved into something more magical.
I took it out of the bag,put it on my desk and then got distracted with some other situation life happened to throw at me.
Anyhow..the magic....well I'd torn a perfume ad and a camera review out of a magazine (both items I coveted madly)and I slipped them into the jar for safe keeping.Every time I came into my work space I looked at them resting in the jar.I added to the jar occasionally, another camera promo ad, a fortune from a cookie... It became a vision board,of sorts.
I started calling it my jar of impossible things. The perfume was the first thing I got....the camera was a mother's day gift.
As I received each item I removed the paper from the jar.I keep adding to it though, some silly things, some heartfelt.

Wont say whats in it right now, that's a secret between me and the Jar.

Viva Frida!

I just watched a video on Frida Kahlo, and the dream I had last night came back to me in a rush!I remember praying (to her?)and practically begging her to give me inspiration,a flower from her hair,a smile. She appeared to me and I recall she was wearing red, with her hair all loose and flowing. She touched my hand and vanished.
That's all I remember......
